Perseverance

In Room 9 we have been thinking about perseverance.  It is one of our Ashhurst School values and we know that to show perseverance we need to keep on trying, even when something is hard or is taking us a long time.  In this photo Blaise is persevering at his writing.  We are training for our school cross country at the moment, and we are all persevering when we do our cross country practice each day.

Monarch Butterflies

In Room 9 we have been watching 4 caterpillars grow and change into 4 beautiful monarch butterflies.  At the start of the year we spent time asking questions about what might happen with the caterpillars and over the weeks our questions have been answered.  Today we let our last butterfly go outside and watched it fly away.

Triathlon!

Earlier this week we had our school triathlon.  Everyone had a fantastic time!  Some of us  participated as a team.  Most of us completed the triathlon individually.  We were all really proud of ourselves for participating.  Have a look at the photos of us during the triathlon.  You can see how much fun we had!

Cycle Safetly

Last week we had a fantastic time learning all about cycle safety. We brought our bikes to school and went around different courses on the playground. We also practiced riding with one had by giving a partner a high five, just like you can see in the photo. We learnt how to wear our helmets correctly too!

Today we had our second buddy class session for the year. We made swan plants out of different materials because we have a swan plant in our class and are enjoying watching our caterpillars grow. We had lots of fun making these. Thanks Room 6!
